Introduction
Before the 1920's, Americans, and generally the rest of the world, had a very narrow view of how things worked and about the inner mechanics of science and physics. Individuals had their own notions and ideas, perhaps, of how things work, but their understanding of the world was a skeleton compared to the broader understanding present in most educated individuals today. This is because of key individuals throughout the 20th century who made ground-breaking discoveries and presented logical theories, including ideas in physics and medicine. Early discoveries impacted those to follow, spurring new thoughts and ideas in thinkers' and physicists' minds. The discoveries made and the theories developed are taught and have been taught in science classes in America, widening the understanding of the world. Thus, these discoveries are still impacting the world today. They may also fuel future discoveries, modifications to previous theories, or bring about the presentation of new theories, who knows?
